Rangtal Theatre
Ratan Chakraborty is a professional mime artiste and founder Director of Rangtal Theatre last 22 years. He is a MA from (M.Mus. Drama & Theatre Art) Visva-Bharati University, Santiniketan. He received a Senior Fellowship Award-2021 in Mime from CCRT, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, New Delhi. He is a writer, director & actor. Last 6 years trained in mime from Master Theatre group and 9 years by Padmasree Niranjan Goswami , Indian Mime Theatre. He Received training on Puppet by Padmasree Suresh Dutta, Street drama by Natyakar Dr. Badal Sarkar, Prof.Dr. Tarun Prodhan, Prof.Sri Santanu Das etc.. He has been involving with Mime last 35years. He has participated in many different solo & group Mime and perticipated in dance, Chhow, Light & sound, Make-up, script writing, Puppet making workshops etc. in different state of India. He has performed in many dance drama. Many advertisement has done like Vodafone co., Reliance, Mirakkel etc. Acted in many mime and Human puppet shows in lead character and also performed in many awareness programs. Received best actor for Drama performed in “Ami Mantri Habo” and performed many street drama and also stage drama. Acted in Bengali serial in DD Bengali channel in 1999. Attended as a chief judge on National Yoga competition at Goa. Teaches too many workshops and specially Deaf & Dumb at different schools , Collages and others theatre groups. He participated in 3rd International Art Festival at Sanghai, China in 2002 with Indian Mime Theatre. Performed many mime shows at 2nd Chaplin Festival-2016 , 3rd Chaplin Feestival-2018 and 4th Chaplin Festival-2019 at Dhaka, Bagladesh. He has been working with a band of efficient and dedicated people of research and development of contemporary mime and to fulfill other social commitment. He has been participating in many national level mimes and other Festival. Rangtal Theatre has organized last 12th National Cultural Festival -2024 in supported by Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India, New Delhi and also many Productions grants received from Sangeet Natak Academi, Govt. of India, New Delhi last four years. Organized 2nd Children promoting Festival last two years.
Thought and creation
We always make research on different subject which are related to social, awareness, Human values of Educational and Cultural important. Such as environment protection atrocities protection of girls child. Cleanness like Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav , Jan Bharat Rang ( Biksit Bharat) and other important issues life of great man who guided our society and country. Like Thakur Sri Ramkrishana, Swami Vivekananda, Rabindra Nath Tagore etc. and we translate and share these entire good messages with the people of our society.
One the basis of these ideas we write scripts and stories after discussion amongst our members. So that they feel their also a part and parcel our activities.
